Fitness Consultations
Interview with a certified trainer to discuss program goals and objectives, schedule, programs, and review past health and exercise history. Information is used to help develop a specific plan for the individual (ages 15 and up).

Fee: Members only - Free, appointment must be scheduled
with a certified personal trainer.

Equipment Orientations
One of our Fitness Attendants will develop and guide you through a general fitness routine on all of the Body Masters/Magnum selectorized weight Machines. Follow up orientations may be scheduled after your first appointment. The follow up orientation is scheduled to review workouts and to make adjustments to routine format if needed. We recommend two appointments for beginners. Appointments can be made at the front desk (ages 15 and up).

Fee: Members - Free

Computerized Fitness Assessments
A comprehensive measurement of your current overall fitness level. The results will be analyzed and our staff will review the results with you. We will also help you develop a plan to improve or maintain your current condition (ages 15 and up).

Fee: Members - $50 Program participants - $60

Body Composition: Have your body fat analyzed with skin calipers (3-site and 7-site measurements). Body measurements with tape measure are optional. Re-test in 4-6 months to compare results.

Fee: Members - $10 one time, $20 up to three times a year
Program participants - $20, $30 up to three times a year

Personal Fitness Training
Buy 20 or more sessions and receive 10% OFF (POLAR) products September-December.One-on-one fitness training with certified professionals. The YMCA’s Personal Training Program begins with an extensive consultation and health screening to identify any risks and set appropriate goals. Once your fitness level is determined, your trainer will develop a fitness plan, customized to your particular abilities, goals and health status (ages 10 and up, if youth are under the age of 15 at least three one-hour sessions are required). After four training sessions, a Program participant must become a member to continue training.

Fee: 1-hour session Members - $35, $315 for 10 (if paid in full)
Program participants - $50

1/2 hour session Members - $25, $225 for 10

Running & Triathlon Coaching
Have you every wanted to compete in a race or triathlon?  Are you a runner or triathlete who wants to improve your results?  Work with our “Coach”, Mark Yurish, to develop a specific training plan to achieve your goals.  The training plan will be based on your current abilities and your specific goals. 

Fee:
Two ½ hour appointments - Members $50, Program participant $70

Follow up “Coaching” service:  Work 1-on-1 with our coach to develop specific skills or master targeted workouts.  Improve you running mechanics, learn how to do speed work, learn specific strength techniques to improve your results, and much, much more. 

Fee:
½ hour appointment - Members $25, Program participant $35

Trail Blazers, step off the road and onto the dirt.  Program is FREE to all.  For anyone wanting to begin trail running for the first time.  Or those that want group support and a little extra push.  Run at your own pace.

Time: Tuesdays at 5:30pm

Location: Montgomery Hall Park (meet in the soccer field parking lot).

One-on-One Pilates
Designed to develop the “Powerhouse,” improve muscle control, increase flexibility, coordination and balance. Pilates will also tone and strengthen muscles.

Fee: 1-hour session
Members - $35, $315 for 10 (paid in full)
Program participants - $50

Members - $25, $225 for 10 (paid in full)

Sport-Specific Pilates
If you participate in: golf, cycling, running, football, skiing, swimming, tennis, or equestrian sports - and want to have an edge on your competition, perform more effectively in your sport or improve your overall well being then maybe you should include pilates in your training schedule. The exercises taught in pilates center on using the muscles of the "powerhouse" to strengthen and stabilize the core. Most sports
require a strong and balanced core for effective performance.  With a regular and consistent routine of pilates you'll see improvements in your core strength, stability, flexibility, and balance. The YMCA offers one-on-one or group training sessions addressing sports specific exercises using pilates.

Fee: Members - $35/hour, $25/half hour
Program participants - $50/hour, $35/half hour
Group: 2 to 10 people
Members - $315, Program participants - $350

Weight Training 101 - Beginner to Intermediate, Adults 18 and up. This class is designed to teach basic lifting techniques in a group atmosphere.

Location: Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA (Wellness Center) 

Days/Times:
Tuesday, 7:00-8:00PM, Myron Bullett (muscular strength)
Thursday, 7:00-8:00PM, Tad Dulaney (muscular endurance)

If you are only able to attend one class a week there will be a $10 discount (notify front desk).  We will switch the order each session so that everyone has a chance to do both programs. 

Session Dates:
December - 1st - 29th (no class 24th)
Registration deadline November 30th.  Last session until May 2010.

We will take off January-April and start back up in May.  We need a minimum of six people for class to run.  Class is limited to 10 people.  Parents with children in the playroom may leave class a few minutes early (playroom closes at 8:00pm).

Senior Wellness Program
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 11-12, Studio B 
One-hour class for ages 50 and above that includes strength training and flexibility exercises for seniors. Class is held in the Wellness Center. It is recommended that you speak with an instructor before beginning this program.

Fee: Members - Free
Program participants - $28 for 8 visits,
$36 for 12 visits
